Appalling sea lice damage to wild fish populations in Loch Roag

Acting for Salmon & Trout Conservation Scotland Guy Linley-Adams has made a formal representation to the Scottish Government under the Environmental Liability Directive following reports of large numbers of wild salmon at the mouth of the River Blackwater on the Isle of Lewis covered in many hundreds of lice at the same time as the nearby salmon farms run by The Scottish Salmon Company experienced severe difficulties controlling sea lice on their farmed fish. The Directive requires the Scottish Government to respond to the notification and investigate whether or not the damage seen was caused by the fish farms.
