Cardiff University Environmental Law Foundation Clinic

In 2018, Guy joined the Cardiff University Environmental Law Foundation Clinic assisting Professor Ben Pontin of Cardiff University and volunteer Cardiff law students to help with environmental cases brought to the Clinic by members of the public. So far, matters dealt with at the Clinic have included advising the Welsh Government on third party rights of appeal in planning cases, addressing planning conditions for environmental protection related to the developments of a disused quarry in North Wales, making a formal complaint to the European Commission concerning the application of the Environmental Impact Assessment Directive relating to the redevelopment of the Hinckley nuclear power station site and marine dumping in Cardiff Bay, associated with that redevelopment, and addressing subsidence of domestic properties caused by opencast mining in South Wales. The Clinic welcomes referrals through the Environmental Law Foundation from anyone seeking pro bono advice in relation to their cases.
